This Privacy Policy explains how Custer Marketing Solutions (“Custer Marketing,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects and uses information through the Clear Cost Education (the “Service”). The Service is built and operated by Custer Marketing, our parent company. This policy applies to school administrators who create accounts and to families who use a school’s embedded calculator.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — name, email address, school name, and role for each user who signs up or is invited to a school account.

Family submissions — information that families voluntarily provide when using a school’s calculator, which may include name, email, phone, ZIP code, household size and income range, student grade, and program preferences.

Billing information — processed directly by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.

Usage data — IP address, browser type, referring page, and interaction logs, used to keep the Service secure and improve reliability.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide the calculator, subscription, and admissions lead features;
  • Estimate voucher and scholarship aid using publicly available program rules;
  • Deliver transactional emails (receipts, invitations, lead notifications);
  • Provide customer support;
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Family Submissions and Schools

Family information submitted through a school’s embedded calculator belongs to that school. We act as a service provider (or “processor”) to the school. If you are a family and want to access, correct, or delete your information, please contact the school directly; we will assist the school on request.

4. Sharing

We share information only as needed:

  • Service providers — hosting (Lovable Cloud, Supabase, Cloudflare), payments (Stripe), email delivery, and analytics providers, each under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • School accounts — family submissions are shown only to the school they were submitted to and to platform administrators for support and abuse prevention.
  • Legal requirements — to comply with law, court orders, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
  • Business transfers — as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to equivalent protections.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use family submissions to train third-party advertising models.

5. Retention

We retain account and family data for as long as an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and audit obligations. Schools can request deletion of their family submissions at any time by emailing us.

6. Security

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level access controls, and role-based permissions. Passwords are hashed and screened against known breach corpuses. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and agree to notify us of any suspected incident.

7. Children

Family submissions may include information about children under 13 (grade level, age range). This information is provided by a parent or guardian to the school for the purpose of estimating tuition and financial aid, and it is treated as school-directed educational information. We do not use it for advertising or profiling. Parents may request access or deletion by contacting the school or emailing us.

8. Your Choices

You may access and update account information from your dashboard, unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in each message, and request account deletion by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection).

9. International Transfers

We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing of your information in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your country.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here and emailed to account owners.
